This Messenger Bag is part of a pair of two made from the very same material with converse color schemes. Thematically set in the Vietnam War era the bag is made almost entirely of authentic material from that time frame sporting the iconic reversible Mitchell pattern then still in use as helmet covers, shelter halfs and tailor made uniforms. The idea was to make the bag only from materials that would have been available to a G.I. or other person in the time frame to actually have a bag made from. I leave it to you to judge on how on point I ended up. ;-)

The bag's main body is comprised of an original 1953 USMC shelter half in the reversible Mitchell pattern with the green "Wine Leaf" side being the dominant pattern here and the brown "Clouds" forming a contrast.

The 2 in wide quick adjustable carrying sling is reproduction WWII US parachute webbing and fitted with authentic steel hardware taken from actual parachute harnesses. On the rear of the bag there's an exterior pocked closed with wooden toggles and intended for quick access to stuff like documents or a magazine to read. On the front exterior there is a pencil holder and inside there are a large zippered pocket as well as a divider with another pocket and a strap with a hook for a key ring. The Bag itself is lined in reinforced US camouflaged parachute canopy salvaged from a chute made in 1953 as well. The main flap is closed with iconic Lift-the-DOT fasteners as used on a lot of early US web gear. Finally on the front flap there's an in country made 1st Air Cav patch.

This elaborate Messenger Bag let's you wear some authentic Vietnam era material in the shape of a practical bag for everyday use.

Like most bags this of course also comes with a sample sheet detailing the materials used.
