This Messenger Bag is thematically set in the German Bundeswehr of the 1990’s/2000’s being made almost entirely from from the venerable Flecktarn pattern salvaged from all kinds of uniforms and shelter-halfs. To make it complete and add the final touch I included two panels of the most hated part of German Army issued equipment – the notorious “Lochkoppel” or Load Bearing Equipment. Issued to every single German soldier even today it is the base line equipment you use whenever “uniformity” is ordered and like every LBE intended for attaching pouches of all kinds.

The 2 in wide adjustable carrying sling is made from the NOS stocks of a manufacturer of German Army tie-down straps. On the rear of the bag there’s an exterior pocked closed with snap buttons and intended for quick access for stuff like documents or a magazine to read. The rear also has another adaptor panel for the “Lochkoppel”. On the front exterior there is a small pocket / pencil holder and yet another adaptor plate. Inside there are a large zippered pocket as well as a divider with another pocket and a strap with a hook for a key ring. The Bag itself is lined completely in Flecktarn as well and has been reinforced with truck tarp all around. Closure is via proprietary Bundeswehr snap buckles.

This plain and slick Messenger Bag lets you wear a piece of modern European surplus that although still turning up everywhere is considered a modern classic and with newly decommissioned gear being shredded now, will eventually become rare.

Like most bags this of course also comes with a sample sheet detailing the materials used.

Size: 16 in x 12 in x 4 in
