This Messenger Bag is made from two modern iconic camouflage patterns, mostly associated with their use by US Forces during Desert Storm in 1991 - The 6-color Desert and the Desert Night Camouflage. The former being the more conventional of the two it is a classic camouflage patter designed to work in deserts and arid environments and had a long history of use even until today oin some states. The Desert Night Camouflage pattern on the other hand was specifically designed to overcome early night vision devices and only issued in form of pants and jackets to be worn over the standard uniform at night in the desert.
Meticulously constructed, the main body of the bag is made from materials in both patterns with the DNC having been salvaged from a field jacket and the 6-color desert from a field shirt. The front flap features a large swatch of Velcro for patches, delivered with a “blind patch” made from the bag's material with the inside sporting another piece of Velcro to store the "spare" patch. The 2 in wide adjustable carrying sling is MILSPEC compliant and comes with OD hardware. On the rear of the bag there’s an exterior pocked closed with Velcro and intended for quick access for stuff like documents or a magazine to read. On the front exterior there is a small pocket / pencil holder. Inside there are a large zippered pocket as well as a divider with another pocket and a strap with a hook for a key ring. The Bag is lined with a Desert camouflage scarf that has been reinforced with material from a US GI duffel bag. The whole bag also has been reinforced with truck tarp all around. Closure is via OD Snap Buckles.
This Messenger Bag lets you wear a piece of modern and late Cold War military history, combining two iconic patterns from the 1991 Golf War.
Like most bags this of course also comes with a sample sheet detailing the materials used.
